Narrow bathroom storage: cart or cabinet bin?
A bathroom cart creates accessible storage only when there is room to reach it and move around it. A bin inside an existing cabinet may solve the same problem with less visible furniture. Compare the available space before picking a format.
Start with what must stay accessible
Group the products you actually use. Separate everyday items from backups. Keep medicines and potentially hazardous products according to their storage guidance and away from children; this guide does not recommend storing them on open carts.
The cart footprint is not the whole footprint
Check the outside width and depth including wheels, then allow for turning, drawer openings and your walking route. The linked IKEA RÅSKOG is listed at 13 3/4 by 17 3/4 inches across its footprint and 30 3/8 inches tall. Make a paper footprint before deciding whether that suits your room.
Compare the job before the capacity
Choose a cabinet bin when you already have enough shelf space and need to keep a small group of items together. Consider a cart when you genuinely need open shelves and can spare the floor area. Neither helps if the items are hard to reach or the organizer obstructs the room. For the RÅSKOG example, a 14-inch-wide gap leaves only a quarter inch around its listed 13.75-inch width in total. That is a warning to test the full movement, not a comfortable fit to assume.
When a cabinet bin is enough
If the problem is small loose items rather than insufficient capacity, reuse a washable tray or container inside the cabinet. Measure around hinges and plumbing. Keep access to shutoff valves and do not put strain on pipework.
What to verify at the retailer
Check materials, care instructions, wheel behavior and any moisture limitations for the exact item. A cart shown in a bathroom illustration is not proof it tolerates repeated splashing. We have not tested this product in a wet room.
